Description: The trails data for George Mitchell Nature Preserve was collected via walking survey using a combination of methods including handheld GPS & GNSS receivers, and smart device to capture GPS coordinates and delineate trail routes. Trail name attributes were assigned to trails data as the data was collected in the field. Some of the trail data in KML format (WGS 84) and presented as a KMZ file, was then converted and projected (NAD 83 SPC TXSC US Feet), scrubbed/cleaned and processed, and migrated to a geodatabase. Database schema standard assigned to the trail data is based on the 2014 NRPA (National Recreation & Parks Association) GIS data model. Additional attribute information was then assigned to the trail GIS dataset with [TRAILID] being the unique ID key to relational tables TrailFeatures.
